Get the Most Out of Your Treatment

I have a beauty secret that everyone would want to know

Whatever treatment you choose, when you come to Arnold Dental, based near Newark, we can help. Whether you’re interested in teeth whitening, Invisalign braces, dental implants or something more routine, we have some top tips for ways to get the most out of your treatment.

Prep your teeth

When you come to us for routine dentistry, it’s a good idea to make sure you’ve cleaned your teeth first. It helps our dentists build a clearer picture of your dental health, and could help us advise you on things to try at home to improve it for the future, such as brushing technique or the right-size interdental brushes to try.

For a cosmetic treatment, such as teeth whitening, ensuring you’ve brushed and flossed ahead of your appointment can make all the difference.

Follow our aftercare tips

For certain treatments – from root canals to dental implants – you may need to follow specific aftercare advice from our dentists. This ensures that your treatment is successful, and can help minimise pain and any complications. We’ll always give you full aftercare instructions after these kinds of treatments, but you’re welcome to call our practice if you have further concerns, and we can book you in for a follow-up with your dentist if needed.

Report any changes

It’s so important to keep an eye on your oral health, and the general condition of your mouth, teeth and gums. With some treatments, there may be a risk of infection, or you may experience some side-effects. Of course, if something changes, or you have a side-effect that gets worse or doesn’t clear up on its own, it’s time to book in with your dentist for an assessment.

Have regular check-ups

One of the best things you can do for your oral health is see your dentist as often as they recommend. If you’ve had treatment for a condition such as gum disease, you may need to have an appointment more regularly to keep an eye on things. We’ll be able to advise on this at the time of treatment. For treatments such as Invisalign, you’ll need regular appointments with your dentist to ensure you’re on track for a straighter smile.

Whatever the treatment and whatever the situation, we’re here for our patients. In fact, we’re well known for providing high-quality care for all the family – and will do all we can to give you a healthy and happy smile, whether through Invisalign or something else.
